The Connections Project

We are a partnership of community members, UNMC faculty, staff and students, and state and county personnel devoted to implementing successful community-based strategies that improve birth outcomes in the African-American community and ultimately reduce disparities in birth outcomes. We are fortunate to have funding from the State Department of Health and Human Services and from private donors.

Our programs include:
1. Peer support program to improve knowledge and skills that promote healthy pregnancy, infant development and perinatal mental health.
2. Community-based learning forums to provide individuals with knowledge and skill training in building community programs to grow healthy babies and families.
